Book Out Day
My first book-out. What a hollow incentive. Only for one day and have to book back in already. At least my confinement weeks are over and i can come back home every weekend. Hard to believe but time flies in the Army. Everyday is so pre-occupied with activities and training that you don't even think about anything else. Those who do think about home and stuff, suffer the most and cry themselves to sleep every night.

The training is tolerable but the officers there can go quite overboard. I'm now used to the swearing and vulgarities they throw in our faces everyday which caught me off-gaurd on my first day there. Nothing they do surprises me anymore because i'm always expecting the worst. My Platoon is a great bunch, very caring, funny, and we are the best of friends.

I don't want to talk too much about NS life, so i'll just end with my fav marching cheer.

Purple light, in the valley
that is where, i want to be
engineers, close companions
with my rifle and my buddy and me.

SOC, sibei jialat
IPPT, lagi worse
everyday, doing pt
with my rifle and my buddy and me.

Booking out, saw my girlfriend
saw her with, another man
broken heart, back to bravo
with my rifle and my buddy and me.

ORD, back to study
got degree, so happy
can't forget, days in bravo
with my rifle and my buddy and me.

Purple heart, at the warfront
that is where, my buddy died
if i die, will you bury me
with my rifle and my buddy and me.
