Driven For Excellence
Heys All, guess whos back... have a five day holiday so decided to blog again. As ya'll know, i was OOC from Jurong. I got my posting while sitting with my platoon after booking in. All of us who failed/OOC from BMT were to become drivers! My posting was 1st SAF Transport Battalion. Nobody knew where that place was, even my officers.. -_- .. So after two days, a mini-bus came to pick the few of us up. Andrew also got chosen to become a driver there so I was mildly excited to have someone I knew going as well.

After a 45 min journey, we arrived at Sembawang Camp. The headquarters of 1 SAF TPT BN. After moving to the Audithoreum, we were greeted by a Lieutenant who seemed quite friendly. I was already getting used to the environment there as it seemed like it was more slack than Jurong. The LTA informed us that before we got settled in, a man from Light Transport Company would choose 3 out of the 9 of us to follow him to his company.

So we were interviewed and i got chosen! So off i was again this time in a GP car to another camp. LTC..my new home.. and i'm lovin it! Seriously i didn't know army life could be so good. Everyday slack and slack. Do a bit of area cleaning and thats it. My company handles the driving of local and international VVIPs. So instead of driving SAF tonners and rovers, we are driving Protons, Nissans, Fords, Rextons and even Mercedes Benzes. Amazing stuff. My camp is called Gloucester Camp located next to Ayer Rajah Camp and behind Alexandra Hospital. I guess i'm very lucky to be posted to this place.

Today woke up at 0630 to have breakfast and fall in at 0730. We played games like Soccer and Basketball on the grounds next to the Parade Square. Had many exciting moments, even our company CSM played with us. After that went back to bunk to bath, eat and fall in again at 1015 where we departed to Sembawang Camp to attend CNY celebrations. It was a new experience for me as it was the first time i witnessed the practice of mixing all the ingredients of food together and throwing it high in the air. There was also a lion dance performance and we fell out at 1230. I went straight back home to relax and i'm going to enjoy the next few days slacking at home till Tuesday night. So if you're reading this and you want to hang out, I'm free!!
